St. Patrick's Day

Two weeks went so fast again. Actually it's Easter soon and I am planning to go London, and then my mum comes, then comes actually Marianna and then my sister! Time runs as always. So last Tuesday was St.Patrick''s Day! A big carneval in here Dublin!

But let's start about work. It had been extra busy two weeks right now. So many clients confirmed their trip to here at the same time and that means I have a lot to do with them. Actually I haven't do so many confirmations yet, so a lot new things too! Summer / Spring is coming I see!

I also had celebrate my freinds birthday this week Thursday. We suprised her with cake and gift middle of the night! So I haven't even sleep so good in this week either..Hehe!

Discovering out of Office

Hello it's going well here in Scancoming.

I had again learn and discover new things. Actually this time have something a very interesting to tell about.

During this month I got more confidence about talking to phone and it's getting easier every time. I don't even need to write notes that much than before. This week I needed to call hotels to make reconfirm that they have right rooms to our clients. So actually I am not making a very big things with phone. I think also that my English is getting better as well and it's easier to understand different akcents.

This week I also made my first hostel offer. It's actually very difficult, because TourPlan is designed to Hotels and for Hostel offers I need to count so many things. It was actually a bit hard to count the price per room per night, when I got price per person for four nights. Just with hostels need to be careful.

I also first time ever booked one of the Extreme Ireland's Tours and they invited me to their new "Whiskey and Castle" Tour on 4th of March. So then on Wednesday morning I went discover to this tour and they also told if we are interested to discover another tours we are free to ask. I also made a report from this tour. So here some pictures of this Tour.

Tullamore Whiskey Distillery

Step by step guide introduced for us different steps to make whiskey.

There you can see how Whiskey is boiling awayduring the years. First one is 10 year, second 15 years and last one 25 years.

Tullamore produces their three different whiskeys and in the end of the tour we also tasted those three whiskeys.

Tullamore Whiskey Distillery

  Birr Castle & Gardens

Castle is located in Offaly and it is large. First we took a part of guided exhibition which presented history of the original family Earl of Rosse - also known as Parsons Family.

Mostly exhibition focused on space science, because third of Earl was a well-known astronomer.

There was also produced a lot about Birr telescope as a miniature.

On exhibition there was a lot of old material about his work for example old diaries, drawings and the goods he needs for working

Countess of Rosse, Mary specialised to photographing in the middle and late 1800s.

On exhibition I also discovered of her photographing and I saw maybe the oldest dark chamber in the world.

After exhibition we discovered to Garden where a yellow tree house was.

.  Then we went to see the Castle and it was so amazing and definitely forth to see. I was very impressive about the Castle’s furnishings and different kind of collections (porcelain, fans etc).

Last one thing we discovered was Birr telescope in the 1840’s.

Kilbeggan Distillery

This Whiskey Distillery is actually pretty much different than Tullamore’s Distillery. Building is a very old and everything, even a smell inside is old and original.

We saw when hot water and barley was mixed together. Seeing things by my own eyes made whiskey experience so much more real.

I enjoyed my time in tour and it was very interesting to discover in two different Whiskey Distilleries and the Castle. Especially the Castle was amazing and definitely forth to see. Also tours in Whiskey Distilleries were interesting, because I actually knew nothing about Whiskeys before yesterday. I think to visit in both of these Whiskey Distilleries gave a good idea about how to make whiskey and when I actually saw it by my own eyes in Kilbeggan Distillery. This Tour really gave much information about Whiskey. But I think target group is adults, because the tour focused on most of the Whiskeys.

So something different this time! :)
